My 1958 Buick Limited 2 Door Hardtop, Model 755. In 1958, Buick tried to break into the luxury market on a level with Cadillac and Lincoln by reviving the Limited line of the '30s and '40s. The rear deck was extended (3 inches longer than the Cadillac) and the exterior trim was changed to set it apart from the regular production '58 Buicks. The price was about $30 higher than the comparable Cadillac. Total production: 4 door - 5571, 2 door - 1026, convertible - 839.
My car has every option available in 1958: Air conditioning; power steering, brakes, seat, windows, and antenna; Wonderbar radio; autronic eye; and air ride suspension. All are working except the for air ride suspension which has been converted to coil springs. The engine is 364 ci V8 with a Rochester 4 barrel carburetor which gets 300 hp. It weighs 5000 pounds. I've been told that this car has more chrome than any other '50s car - I don't doubt it. This car gives the smoothest ride of any car I've ever owned, it will cruise at 90 mph and it feels like 30 mph.
My car was originally a West Texas car (i.e.- no rust) and has only spent 5 years out of state. I bought it on eBay.com and brought it home to Texas in January 2001. I have the complete ownership history of the car also. check out my web site http://users2.ev1.net/~drw2980
