Production Series 4700 - 1963 was the
first year of the Riviera a new sports - luxury car. The Riviera looked
elegant and fast. The 1963 Riviera had the following features, including:
Two-speed wipers w/wash, backup lights, day/night inside mirror, parking
brake signal light, saftey buzzer, Riviera wheel covers, electric clock,
license frame, padded instrument panel, trip mileage odometer, front and
rear bucket seats, courtesy lamps, deep-pile carpet, foam-padded seat cushions,
center console, heater and defrost, and frameless side windows.
The 1963 Riviera Series 4700 I.D. Numbers- Serial numbers began
with 7j( )001001.

*Notes: 1963 Riviera's had a flat gray dash until approximately December of 1962 when a ribbed aluminum covering became
standard. Early '63 Rivieras had a 120 mph speedometer. After November
1962 (approximately), the 140 mph speedometer was used for the rest of
1963 thru 1965. map light above the glove box. Padded vinyl covering below the glove box. Shift quantrant was completely different
(order was-Park then Neutral then Drive then Low then Reverse). The '63
did not have room for a speaker in the front. Only a rear speaker was
